  • A virtual appraisal occurs when the appraiser assesses items without physically examining them, relying instead on images and information provided by the client.

  • To ensure accurate appraisal, the appraiser will request high-quality images of the pieces from various angles. A list of specific vantage points, along with guidelines for optimizing photo quality, will be provided to you. Additionally, the appraiser will ask for the dimensions of the piece to the nearest 1/4”. It may also be necessary to digitize and send supporting documentation, such as sales receipts or provenance, along with the images. Once the appraiser has reviewed the information, they will thoroughly research the relevant markets and determine the value.

  • Our virtual appraisal reports continue to adhere to the highest industry standards and remain fully USPAP-compliant.

  • Virtual appraisals cannot be used for legal purposes, federal tax functions, or insurance purposes.
